Midstream Pregnancy Test hCG Self-Test

A rapid test for the qualitative detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in a urine sample.
For self-testing in vitro diagnostic use only.

The hCG Midstream Self-Test has been developed to provide a qualitative result for the presence of the pregnancy hormone hCG in urine.
The presence of hCG can be an early indication of pregnancy.

This test provides preliminary information and is intended as an aid to early detection.
People should not make medical decisions based solely on this test and should consult a doctor for confirmation and guidance.
This test does not replace professional medical advice.

What is hCG and why is it important?

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by the body shortly after implantation of a fertilized egg.
The amount of hCG rises rapidly during the first weeks of pregnancy.

The midstream test detects hCG from 25 mIU/ml, which corresponds to very early pregnancy.

You can test from the first day you miss your period.
Although you can test at any time of day, the first morning urine usually contains the highest concentration of hCG.

  • Medicines containing hCG may give false positive results.
  • Highly diluted urine can produce false negatives.
  • A weak positive result must be confirmed by repeating the test after 48 hours.
  • Only a doctor can make a definitive pregnancy diagnosis.

In a clinical evaluation involving 608 urine samples, an overall accuracy of >99% was determined.

PROCEDURE

Allow the test and urine sample to reach room temperature (15-30 °C) before testing.

  1. Remove the midstream test from the foil packaging and use it immediately within one hour.

  2. Remove the cap from the midstream test, hold the test so that the absorbent end is placed in the urine stream, or place the absorbent end (≥ 2/3) in a clean cup of urine for at least 15 seconds.
CAUTION: Do not urinate on the result window.

  3. Cover the cap of the midstream test, place the product on a clean and stable surface, and start the timer immediately.

  4. Read the result after 3 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.

read the results

POSITIVE: two colored lines appear.

A colored line should appear in the control line area (C) and another colored line should appear in the test line area (T). One line may be lighter than the other; they do not need to match. This means that you are likely to be pregnant.

NEGATIVE: one colored line appears in the control line area (C).

No line appears in the test line area (T). This means that you are probably not pregnant.

INVALID: The result is invalid if no colored line appears in the control line area (C).

Even if a line appears in the test line area (T). You can repeat the test with a new midstream test.

The HCG Midstream self-test detects a hormone in your urine that your body produces during pregnancy (hCG-human chorionic gonadotropin). The amount of pregnancy hormone increases as the pregnancy progresses.

You can test your urine on the first day you miss your period. You can perform the test at any time of day, but if you are pregnant, the first morning urine contains the most pregnancy hormone.

Although you can test at any time of day, your first morning urine is usually the most concentrated of the day and contains the most hCG.

A clinical evaluation was conducted comparing the results of the hCG Self-test Midstream with those of another commercially available urine hCG test. The consumer clinical trial included 608 urine samples: both tests identified 231 positive and 377 negative results. The results demonstrated an overall accuracy of >99% for the hCG Self-test Midstream compared to the other urine hCG test.

It means that your urine contains hCG and that you are probably pregnant. Consult your doctor to confirm that you are pregnant and to discuss what steps you should take.

If a colored line appears in the control area (C), this means that you have followed the test procedure correctly and that the correct amount of urine has been absorbed.

This means that no hCG has been detected in your urine and that you are probably not pregnant. If you have not started your period within a week of the expected date, repeat the test with a new midstream test. If you get the same result after repeating the test and you still have not started your period, you should consult your doctor.
